This series Understory (2019 onwards), is photographic work made concurrently with the gradual maturing of the woodland garden. As the trees mature, the canopy lifts and offers the right conditions for special woodland plants to establish. The understory is shaded by filtered light, highlighting form, colour and generating atmosphere and mood. With this series I’m continuing to improve and simplify digital techniques of layering to create spacial depth and a sense of place.
